In order to meet current emissions regulations, intercoolers have been added to hydraulic fracturing pumps. Intercoolers decrease air temperatures circulating within the pumps, ultimately decreasing nitrous oxide emissions. Because of the lower temperatures, soot is unable to be burned off and builds up in the intercooler. This causes an array of mechanical issues stemming from the decrease in airflow through the pump.
Including:
Reduces emissions: Nitrous Oxide emissions are reduced up to 40%.
Increases on-site safety: Fully functioning intercoolers decrease overall engine temperatures, leading to decreased risk of fire.
Improved engine efficiency: Increased airflow through the engine decreases the overall engine workload, leading to increased production and increased fuel efficiency.
Step 1: Diagnosis- Estimate soot levels based on airflow readings.
Step 2: Schedule- Preventative cleaning of intercooler, approximately once every 2 years or longer.
Step 3: Clean- Using an EPA Safer Choice Certified cleaning solution, and time intensive cleaning, we bring the intercooler function back up to factory function.
Step 4: Monitor- We continually monitor airflows to ensure long lasting results.
